How to Use Industrial Interior Design Style in Your Salon

Industrial Salon Design

True to its name, industrial is an aesthetic movement inspired by old factories and industrial warehouse spaces. There is nothing delicate about the style. Rather than shy away from weight and roughness, industrial interiors choose to celebrate the working parts of a building. Embracing the worn, recycled, and salvaged, the design style harmoniously blends minimalist and rustic for a uniquely masculine aesthetic with plenty of character. While more conventional designs would tuck away such things, interiors with an industrial flair often emphasize stripped-back architectural details such as beams, columns, pipes, ducts, and flanges. In addition to exposed ductwork and piping, the use of raw building materials is characteristic of the style. Preferring artfully distressed surfaces over fresh and new—you can expect to see plenty of bare steel, iron, copper, aluminum, aged brass, concrete, exposed brick, unfinished wood, and stone.

For architectural details to truly shine, added accessories should be minimal. Industrial interiors tend to opt for a restricted color palette using warm, neutral colors such as whites, grays, browns, and black and reserving bold hues for small details.

Minerva Beauty's Stainless Steel, Loft, and Reclaimed collections are all perfect starting points to help you furnish your industrial-designed salon, spa, or barbershop. From looks to purpose, everything about industrial style should feel authentic.
